'You might have a position on controversial issues, but what makes you think that all Christians agree with you?'

Well, clearly it would be impossible for everyone to agree on everything. You'll find as much diversity within the Christian community as you will in the secular world. So, I don't pretend for a minute to speak for all Christan's. But as a Christian, I think it’s my responsibility to search the scriptures to try my best to determine God’s will as it is related to the controversial issues of our day. It would be shameful to shrink from addressing these topics. Even those who deny the existence of God would argue that everyone has a responsibility to examine the important issues of our culture. As a Christian, I simply feel the same way.

'But if Christians don’t even agree about this stuff, why should I accept your view?'

I think Christians actually agree more than you might care to admit. But everyone should engage the most important issues of our time and do their best to develop a response. And it is also every Christians’ personal responsibility to try to view the issues from God’s perspective, and sometimes that may mean having to submit your own desire, impatience or convenience. I've done my best to examine these issues carefully, and I would hope that everyone would do the same. We all have this common responsibility to take the time to research and understand the issues.

'But, again, what makes you the authority in what every Christian believes or ought to believe?'

This web page, if nothing else, should at least start the personal investigation of a few important issues. But again, it is not the source for God’s answer, only a humble and honest attempt to understand what God says in the ultimate source, His Word. No one should take my word for what God says about these issues. Everything must be submitted to the maker of heaven and earth. Search the Bible for the answers on your own, but at least begin the search.
