Biographical Data
Jim was born in Los Angeles County. He and his wife, Susie, have been together for over 30 years and have four children together. They still live in sunny Southern California.

Educational Information
Jim holds a BFA from CSULB in Design (graduating at the top of his class with "Great Distinction"), a MArch from UCLA in Architecture (graduating at the top of his class once again), and an MA from GGBTS in Theological Studies (again graduating with the highest GPA in his class). Jim is also a graduate of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy where he was the "Honor Recruit".

Professional Information
Jim has served as a Police Officer for 23 years. He has been an investigator for 19 of those years and has been investigating homicides for approximately 14 years. He presently works as a Cold Case Homicide Detective.

Christian Service and Experience
Jim served on Church Staff as a Children's Minister and Youth Pastor. He also planted a church and served as the Lead Pastor there for four years. He is the founder of PleaseConvinceMe.com and presently leads a team of writers and thinkers who examine the Christian Worldview:

Jim has been writing articles for PleaseConvinceMe.com for several years, and is a contributor to the Apologetics Study Bible for Students.

Podcasting
Jim has been podcasting for over three years, providing a weekly one hour apologetics podcast that often appears in iTunes "What's Hot" list in Christian Podcasts.

Broadcasting on the Radio
Jim is frequently interviewed by local and national radio hosts, and has guest hosted the national Stand to Reason radio show.

Jim has also appeared on Television as a guest on JCTV's "Top 3" and on His Channel TV's "His Channel Live".

Jim has produced and appeared in a number of videos articulating the case for Christianity

 

Speaking
Jim continues to serve the Church and community as a trainer and speaker, teaching groups at local churches, schools and at Christian retreat centers such as the Hume Lake Christian Conference Center, Alpine Camp and Conference Center, Forest Home and Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center.

Jim is a member of the International Society of Christian Apologetics, the Evangelical Philosophical Society, the Emerging Scholars Network, the California Homicide Investigators Association and the International Association of Cold Case Investigators.
